PROJECT BRIEF
SCOPE + STORYBefore being purchased by Starbucks, Teavana had operated for twenty years as a specialty tea bar and high-end retailer of tea products and accessories. Therefore, the locations featured premium aesthetics to go along with their premium products.
For one location, surfaceLAB was approached with the challenge of creating internally illuminated “floating shelves” to display canisters of loose-leaf teas. By collaborating with the casework company, IWS, a cantilevered design was created, including the lighting. surfaceLAB then fabricated all of the components for IWS to install.
