PROJECT
RENAISSANCE HOTEL “EGGS”
At the Renaissance Albany, you will be nestled in the heart of the capital of New York state, in the historic DeWitt Clinton Hotel. The Hotel combines old world charm with handsome dark wood paneling and stunning marble floors, with modern touches of convenience and flare.
One of those modern touches is the ‘Egg’ Reception/Check-In Desk as a design nod to ‘The Egg’, the local art piece at the Empire State Plaza’s Center for the Performing Arts. Cauhaus Design quite literally sent in a foam egg to use as a visual representation of the final design concept. After approval of the submitted CAD files and shop drawings, surfaceLAB™ proceeded to fabricate fiberglass egg shells lined with casework, and illuminated with a uniquely fabricated LG Hi-Macs solid surface base to add that necessary flare.
