PROJECT

Saint Barnabus Medical Center

When the design-fabrication firm, SITU, encountered a concept they needed help with, they contacted Rick and surfaceLAB™.

The proposed design for the Saint Barnabas Medical Center included feature walls intended to replicate the movement of water. To achieve this look, multiple sheets of solid surface were created using direct print method of surfacePRINT™ with post complex thermoforming to create the rippled effect.

The large scale nature of the project presented the challenge of ensuring that gradient blue color appeared seamless throughout once installed by Situ’s team. The photos (photo credit: Chris Cooper, Bjorg Magnea, SITU) show that surfaceLAB™ achieved that objective.
